How to activate the Microsoft Indexing service for Windows Vista

• Synopsis

  This guide will show you how to activate the Indexing Service for Windows Vista.

• Applicable to

  All SherWeb hosted CRM accounts.

• Prerequisite

  • administrative rights
  • an Advanced CRM plan that allows Offline Access installation
     

• How to

  1. On your Desktop, go to Start - Control Panel.
  2. Click on Classic view on the top left of the screen to bring up more advanced options.
  3. Double click on the Programs and Features icon.
  4. In the Tasks section, click on Turn Windows Features on or off.
  5. A User Account Control window may appear. Click on Continue to allow modifications to occur.
  6. Checkmark the folder called Indexing Service and then click on Continue.
  7. Vista will configure the service and close the window once the CiSvc service is installed.
