How to make an Offline Address Book and an Out of Office Assistant work (Exchange 2010)

    This guide will show you what to do if you are having issues with your Offline Address Book or Out of Office Assistant.

    All SherWeb 2010 hosted Exchange accounts.

    • a SherWeb 2010 hosted Exchange account
  • How to

    If you are using SherWeb's DNS servers:

    1. Log into your DNS Control Panel.
    2. Create an A record called autodiscover.yourdomain.com that points to the IP address: 74.115.204.63 if you are on Exchange 2010 (site 1) OR 74.115.207.54 if you are on Exhchange 2010 (site 2).

    If you are not using SherWeb’s DNS servers:

    1. Contact your DNS provider and have them add the above A record.

    Note: The A record you created following the instructions in this article may take time to propagate across the internet (up to 2-7 days). In other words, you will only be able to take advantage of the AutoConnect feature when DNS changes have fully propagated. If you do not know how to check that, just wait for a few days and try to configure a new Outlook profile using this feature.
