How to transfer your organization from SherWeb hosted Exchange 2007 to SherWeb hosted Exchange 2010

  This guide will help you to transfer from SherWeb hosted Exchange 2007 to SherWeb hosted Exchange 2010.

  All SherWeb hosted Exchange accounts.

• How to

  Note: Unfortunately, there’s no 1 click button way to transfer from a hosted Exchange 2007 platform to a hosted Exchange 2010 one. However, SherWeb is currently putting lots of effort developing a set of tools that will help customers transfer to the newest platform. Until those tools are made available, which is expected Q3/Q4 2011, transfer can be done manually by the customer.

  Note that there’s absolutely no rush migrating to the new 2010 platform, since the 2007 one will remain available and fully supported. So before making your decision, please familiarize yourself with our new pricing and what is and is not included in the new platform : http://www.sherweb.com/hosted-exchange/hosted-exchange-features?rl=true.

  Important: As always, our qualified technical team will be there to assist you if it is required but please be advised that SherWeb does not migrate the accounts for the customer.

  1. Sign up for Exchange 2010  by contacting our sales team at 1-888-567-6610 X 2200 or going online at http://www.sherweb.com/hosted-exchange.

     Since hosted Exchange 2007 and 2010 are different products, you'll be billed separately for both products during your migration.

  2. Create your users on the new 2010 Control Panel.?

     Please refer to the FAQ #219: How to create a user in the Control Panel (Exchange 2010).

  As soon as you create a mailbox in the 2010 CP, all emails sent locally in 2010 will not be received in your 2007 mailbox

  3. Create the new profile.
  4. Create your Exchange 2010 Autodiscover record ?

     Please refer to the FAQ #273: How to add an autodiscover record in a DNS (Exchange 2010)

  5. Change the MX records or assign the required redirection.?

     Please refer to the FAQ #173: How to point MX records to SherWeb (Exchange 2010).

  6. Export the existing profiles via pst files.?

     Please refer to the FAQ #243: How to export an Outlook 2010 .pst file (Exchange 2010).

  7. Import the pst files into the new profile.?

     Please refer to the FAQ #246: How to import a Personal Folder File (.pst) file in Outlook (Exchange 2010).

  8. Contact the billing department to tell them that you are ready to terminate your existing Exchange 2007 account. You should not terminate your own account.?
